Your Employment Contract — The Most Important Document You Have
All employment contracts must now be registered in the Ministry of Labor's official E-Contract system. Failure to register voids the contract entirely. Qatar Day
What this means for you as an expat:
- Demand a written, registered contract before you start work
- Check that your contract is on the E-Contract system
- Keep a copy of everything — digitally and physically
Your contract must state your job title, salary, working hours, leave entitlements, and end-of-service terms. If it does not, ask your employer to correct it before you sign.
