Washington, November 02, 2026 : Lionel Messi scored one goal and provided an assist as Inter Miami came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over hosts New England Revolution in Major League Soccer (MLS) action.
New England took the lead through Daniel Gazdag in the 53rd minute, but Messi played a decisive role in the comeback, setting up Inter Miami’s equaliser before scoring the winning goal himself.
The result moved Inter Miami above New England into second place in the Eastern Conference standings, with just one match remaining in the regular season.
Elsewhere, Minnesota United defeated Los Angeles FC 3-1, while Portland Timbers also recorded a 3-1 victory, beating Houston Dynamo.
