Doha, November 02, 2026 : The Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show will begin on Wednesday, bringing together purebred Arabian horses to compete for titles across several age categories.
Organised by Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), the four-day competition will run until November 7 at the Longines Outdoor Arena in Doha.
Classified as an International B event under the regulations of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO), the show will follow approved international competition and veterinary standards.
The opening day will begin at 3 pm, with 14 classes featuring newborn fillies and colts, as well as horses aged one, two and three years. Mare and stallion competitions will be divided into three age groups: four to six years, seven to 10 years, and 11 years and above.
The programme includes six championship categories covering yearling fillies and colts, junior fillies and colts, mares and stallions. The top three horses from the qualifying classes will advance to the final rounds, where gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded.
All competitions will follow ECAHO regulations governing horse eligibility and participation, alongside approved veterinary requirements to protect the animals and ensure fair competition.
The event forms part of Al Shaqab’s efforts to strengthen Qatar’s position in international equestrian sports, support Arabian horse owners and breeders, preserve purebred bloodlines and celebrate the horses’ significance in Qatar’s and the wider Arab world’s heritage.
The competition will conclude on Saturday with the final championships and the awarding of titles and medals.
