Ministry of Interior Officials
A number of officials at the Ministry of Interior affirmed the importance of the National Sport Day in spreading awareness of the importance of sport and its role in health and development, and in building a vibrant, productive, and effective society as well as its role in achieving civilizational and cultural communication between peoples.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Interior organized on Tuesday several sporting events at Qatar Club in the presence of HE Director of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, HE President of Qatar Sports Club Sheikh Suhaim bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, President of the Arab and Qatar Police Sports Federations Brigadier Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah, and several officials and employees of the Ministry.
The sports activities of the Ministry included volleyball, rowing machine, walking, stationary bicycles, as well as football hexagons, and other sports activities organized in accordance with health requirements to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
For his part, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Interior Major General Engineer Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ansari stated that sport has become a lifestyle, hailing the country's initiative in allocating this day, which distinguished the State of Qatar and inspired other countries.
He pointed out to the great sporting event that all the peoples of the earth aspire to, which is the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, calling on everyone to give to come out with an exceptional World Cup as it is considered a patriotic act, affirming the country's readiness to organize this event which enhances communication between peoples.
For his part, Assistant Director of Public Security Major General Abdullah Mohammed Al Suwaidi pointed out the importance of the Sport Day for the State of Qatar, especially in the Ministry of Interior, where interest in sports is a fundamental value of building an individual.
He explained that sport is an integral part of the components of the security man, affirming that the Ministry of Interior's celebration of Sport Day is an affirmation of the importance of sport in everyone's life as it is one of the important things to promote health and thus work and achievement.
In turn, Brigadier General Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah affirmed the importance of the National Sport Day for its great impact on members of society and for achieving lofty goals by spreading the culture of sports for all.
He noted the role of sports in raising the physical fitness of the employees of the Ministry of Interior so that they can perform their work efficiently, stressing that sport is at the heart of the police's work.
In addition, HE President of Qatar Sports Club Sheikh Suhaim bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani stated that the State of Qatar, through the Sport Day, has solidified for everyone that sport is an important part of human life, explaining that the Sport Day is an encouragement for all segments of society to practice sports as a lifestyle.
Director-General of Civil Defense Brigadier Hamad Othman Al Duhimi stated that the National Sport Day is a valuable opportunity to encourage people to exercise regularly, and not only practice on this day.
He pointed out that exercising is among the daily duties of a civil defenseman, who needs high physical fitness to enable him to perform his job duties in rescue and firefighting operations and to provide the distinguished service that the Ministry of Interior is keen on.
For his part, Director of the Community Police Department, Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Samih indicated that sports, in general, contribute to helping positive thinking, and its importance increases for the Ministry of Interior's military and other ranks to maintain their physical fitness, which is reflected on their performance in the field of work.
