Final Thought
Doha asks very little of you and gives back more than you expect. The Souq is genuinely alive, the museum is free and world-class, the harbour views at sunset are beautiful, and the food — the real, local food deep in the alleyways, not the tourist-facing restaurants — is outstanding.
You do not need to be a Gulf enthusiast or particularly interested in the Middle East to enjoy a few hours here. You just need to leave the airport.
Book the metro ticket. Walk into the Souq. Eat something. Come back changed.
