Ukraine drone attack Russia

Two people were killed after a Ukrainian drone crashed into a private home in Russia’s Lipetsk region, Russian authorities said on Wednesday.

The incident reportedly sparked a fire at the residence, while a separate drone attack in the neighbouring Tambov region caused a major blaze at a logistics centre.

Man and 14-Year-Old Boy Killed

Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov said a drone crashed into a private residence, causing a fire that killed two people β€” a man and a 14-year-old boy.

Two women were also injured in the incident and were receiving medical treatment, according to the governor.

Major Fire at Tambov Logistics Centre

In the neighbouring Tambov region, a Ukrainian drone attack reportedly caused a fire at a logistics centre operated by e-commerce company Wildberries.

Regional Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said the fire spread across approximately 40,000 square metres.

Employees were evacuated after air-raid sirens sounded. One worker suffered minor injuries, according to the governor.

Another House Damaged in Tambov

Pervyshov also reported that a separate drone crashed into a private country house in one of Tambov's districts, triggering another fire.

He said Russian air defence systems had shot down 16 Ukrainian drones over the Tambov region during the overnight attack.

Russia Reports Intercepting 426 Drones

Russia's Defence Ministry said on Wednesday that its air defence systems had intercepted 426 Ukrainian drones overnight across several Russian regions.

The reported interceptions came amid continued drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine.

Drone Attacks Continue

Russia and Ukraine have reported near-daily drone strikes and battlefield developments since Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.

Claims made by either side regarding attacks, casualties and battlefield developments cannot be independently verified because of the ongoing hostilities.
