FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Sunday reiterated that the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be the best ever.
In a speech at a special event to showcase the accessibility features of the tournament, Infantino said, “The eight stadiums for the World Cup were built to the highest standards to ensure easy access and viewing without difficulties, and the tournament will be the best version ever.”
"The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be the most convenient in terms of movement and mobility among the World Cup tournaments (since 1930) organized by FIFA," he said, adding that "more than 6,500 volunteers have been trained to deal with people with disabilities."
Qatar 2022 will feature a number of firsts for disabled fans, including the availability of audio descriptive commentary in Arabic at all matches. Three stadiums will host sensory rooms for fans with sensory access requirements, while every match venue was built to exacting accessibility standards, includin accessible parking, seating, bathrooms and concession stands.
