2034 FIFA World Cup
FIFA announced Wednesday that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia officially won the right to host 2034 World Cup during an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly that was virtually held on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia would be the first host nation in history for the largest iteration of the world cup which is slated to draw 48 national teams in five cities to host the tournament matches, after FIFA had previously endorsed the new system of this tournament.
So far, Saudi Arabia has officially submitted the bid to host the edition of the World Cup finals last July, in which it unveiled its plans to host the competition.
The country will host the World Cup matches at 15 stadiums, distributed across five host cities, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and Neom, along with ten additional hosting locations throughout Saudi Arabia.
