The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has launched a new public awareness campaign to encourage eligible patients to undergo their annual health checkups, reinforcing its commitment to preventive healthcare, early disease detection, and improved access to medical services across Qatar.
The campaign primarily targets eligible Qatari patients registered at PHCC health centers. As part of the initiative, eligible individuals will receive text message invitations encouraging them to schedule their annual health assessments. According to Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla, Assistant Managing Director for Clinical Affairs and Executive Director of Operations at PHCC, the campaign aims to increase awareness of routine screenings and their role in preventing diseases before they become more serious.
How Patients Can Book Their Health Checkup
PHCC is encouraging eligible patients to book their appointments through self-referral by calling 107. The corporation has confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed to accommodate the expected increase in demand, ensuring patients receive timely and convenient access to healthcare services.
Key highlights of the service include:
-
Eligible patients can schedule appointments by calling 107.
-
Adults aged 18 years and above can access the annual health checkup service without a prior appointment.
-
PHCC health centers provide the service 24 hours a day.
-
Services are available for walk-in patients, self-referred patients, and scheduled appointments.
Flexible and Accessible Healthcare Services
PHCC explained that the initial health assessment must be conducted in person at one of its health centers. However, when medically appropriate, follow-up consultations can be conducted remotely, offering greater flexibility and convenience for patients.
The corporation also reassured the public that the annual health checkup service remains fully operational and has sufficient capacity to handle increased demand generated by the awareness campaign. Through this initiative, PHCC continues to strengthen preventive healthcare services, promote early diagnosis, and improve the overall health and well-being of the community in Qatar.
