The Ministry of Commerce and Industry Qatar
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) announced, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality, the beginning of the registration for the subsidized sheep prices initiative in preparation for the upcoming Eid Al Adha. The registration process started today and will continue until June 15.
MOCI clarified that livestock breeder and farm owner applicants that own male sheep from the following breeds (Syrian Awassi, Arabi, Harri, and Najdi) have to register at the Department of Livestock in the Ministry of Municipality in person or with a documented power of attorney.
The ministry also indicated the terms and conditions for registering in the initiative, which include having a valid farm permit, and a livestock breeder certificate.
This step is part of the ministry's keenness to encourage and support livestock breeders and farm and ranch owners to increase local sheep production and protect the economic and trading sphere in the state, by maintaining the balance between supply and demand, thereby protecting the stability of prices in the market, and ensure local's access to this commodity at suitable prices.
