Berlin, October 25, 2026 : King Felipe VI of Spain has awarded Qatar’s former ambassador to Spain, HE Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamar, the Order of Civil Merit in recognition of his efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries during his tenure from 2019 to 2024.
Al Hamar, who currently serves as Qatar’s ambassador to Germany, received the decoration from Spain’s Ambassador to Germany, HE Pascual Navarro Rios, at a ceremony in Berlin.
The honour acknowledges Al Hamar’s diplomatic efforts to deepen engagement between Qatar and Spain, strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance relations between the two friendly nations.
The award also reflects Qatar’s commitment to building strong partnerships with friendly countries based on mutual trust and respect, while expanding cooperation across various sectors in pursuit of shared interests and closer ties between their peoples.
