Doha, October 13, 2026 : Qatar SC have mutually agreed to terminate their contract with Spanish coach Marquez Lopez following the club’s disappointing start to the Qatar Stars League season.
The club has appointed Under-23 coach Rashid Al Kubaisi to take charge of the first team.
Qatar SC have collected just two points from their opening five league matches, recording two draws and three defeats. The results have left the team second from bottom in the standings.
Lopez guided Qatar SC to sixth place in the league last season before taking charge of the club’s current campaign. He also led Qatar’s national team to the title at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
