Riyadh, October 12, 2026 : Saudi Arabia has extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh as authorities continue safety inspections and assess the facility’s operational readiness.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced the extension on Monday, stating that the decision aims to allow the completion of necessary procedures to verify the safety of the airport’s facilities in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The suspension follows a series of attacks by the Houthi group targeting the airport and its facilities in recent days, resulting in casualties and material damage.
Authorities are continuing efforts to ensure the airport meets the required safety standards before operations can resume.
