Khor Al Adaid (The Inland Sea)

Khor Al Adaid is a UNESCO-recognised natural heritage site and a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. It is one of only a handful of places on earth where tidal seawater penetrates deep into a dune landscape to form a large inland tidal embayment.
The result is a mosaic of dunes, sabkhas, tidal channels, and shallow marine habitats within a single view. Flamingos, ospreys, dugongs, and marine predators all use this site. It is the most dramatic landscape in Qatar for wildlife photography and one of the most geologically distinctive coastal sites anywhere in the Middle East.
It sits about 80 kilometres south of Doha and is most practically visited by 4x4.
