The Blue Mosque In Katara

The Great Katara Mosque, often known as the Blue Mosque, is one of the many sights to see at the Katara Cultural Village.

Additionally, more tourists have come during the World Cup, especially non-Muslim foreigners who are intrigued by every Muslim call to prayer. Many people have been taking memento shots in the mosque's courtyard.
It has set up a lounge near the mosque which also has a sign put up which says:“Ask me about women in Qatar.”Foreign women tourists are welcome to the lounge where they may relax, enjoy tea or coffee, and ask questions about social life in Qatar, which will be answered by a number of volunteers.

Volunteer Umm Ahmed said: “The aim of preparing this place near the mosque is to introduce foreigners to the Qatari culture of clothing, food, and drink customs and traditions, and most of their questions are about social relations of the Qatari family and marriage traditions. Their social questions are mostly on the life of a Muslim based on Islamic values. Many of the visitors admit that their view of Islam and Muslims was tainted by a lot of unjustified prejudice, but being in Qatar has helped change their views a hundred and eighty degrees.”

To promote Islam to the Eid Charity Foundation, staff members and preachers from the Qatar Guest Centre are stationed at the mosque's entrance. They welcome non-Muslim visitors and respond to their queries about the mosque. They arrange for guests to enter the mosque after prayers so they can experience the ambiance inside.
