Qatar to Host International Conference on Child Helpline
The State of Qatar will host on May 24, 2022 the International Conference on Child Helplines, which is organized by the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN) in cooperation with the Child Helpline International.
Acting Executive Director of AMAN Abdulaziz Al Ishaq said, during a press conference on Wednesday, that the aim of holding this conference is to defend the rights of children and support the international commitment towards confronting any moral and behavioral violations or deviations to which they may be exposed.
He added that the two-day conference, which is held in conjunction with the International Child Helpline Day, which falls on May 17 of each year, aims to educate the local and international community about the rights of this segment and encourage participating countries to establish child support lines and train their cadres in Doha.
He stated that representatives from the Child Helpline International and a group of academics and experts will speak during a number of discussion sessions for the conference, training workshops and awareness seminars accompanying it, with the participation of similar international organizations, the Ministry of Interior, the Public Prosecution and the Supreme Judicial Council.
It is noteworthy that the hotline service (919) and the mobile application ' Help Me', which were launched by the center, helped in electing the "AMAN" center as a regional representative for the Middle East and North Africa.
