Doha, Qatar | September 06, 2026 – Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari announced that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will begin an official visit to the People's Republic of China tomorrow, running from September 7 to 8.
Series of High-Level Meetings Planned
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari said HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will hold a series of meetings with senior Chinese officials during the visit to discuss the strategic relations between the two countries and explore ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields, in addition to expanding economic and investment cooperation in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations.
Regional Developments, Hormuz Security to Feature in Talks
Dr. Al Ansari added that the meetings will also address major regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region, with particular emphasis on the need to ensure the security and freedom of international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
