Students studying at their holiday camp at Qatar
Qatar's Initiative to Launch Holiday Activities for students aged from six to eighteenÂ
Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has unveiled a series of seasonal student activity centers as part of its spring holiday program, reflecting Qatar’s commitment to shaping the skills and talents of its younger generations. Running until December 31, the initiative is designed to ensure that students make meaningful use of their school break by engaging in activities that foster personal growth, academic development, and social responsibility.Â
In its statement, the ministry highlighted that the centers provide a safe and supportive environment where children and youth can strengthen their sense of belonging, embrace national values, and cultivate loyalty to the country. Beyond recreation, the program is carefully structured to enhance academic performance, behavioral awareness, and social skills, underscoring the ministry’s vision of preparing students to become capable and responsible citizens.Â
The activities are open to Qatari and resident students in government schools, as well as Qatari students in private schools, aged between 6 and 18. To ensure broad access, six centres have been established across the country - three for boys at Khalifa Saconday School, Saad bin Muadh Primary School, and Doha Preparatory School, and three for girls at Al Markhiya Primary School, Al Khor Secondary School, and Sowda bint Zam’a Preparatory School.Â
The initiative reflects strong collaboration between the education ministry and other state institutions. The Ministry of Interior is contributing through safety, traffic, and community awareness programs, while the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs is offering sessions that reinforce moral and religious values. The Ministry of Public Health is supporting the centers with health workshops and nursing staff to ensure student well-being.
Further enriching the program, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, youth centers, the Qatar Sports for All Federation, the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Social Development Center (Nama), and the Qatar Red Crescent are providing sports, recreational activities, and workshops in handicrafts and practical skills.
Officials emphasized that the initiative is part of Qatar’s broader effort to nurture future generations by supporting students’ holistic development beyond the classroom. By combining education, health, sports, and cultural enrichment, the program reflects the nation’s vision of empowering its youth to grow into confident, skilled, and socially responsible leaders of tomorrow.
