Hamad International Airport customs foiled an attempt to smuggle prohibited tobacco into Qatar. On suspicion, the customs officer at the airport inspected a passenger’s bag to find 26.95kg of banned tobacco hidden inside it.
The department shared a picture of the banned item and warned against carrying such illegal substances into the country.Â
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
