Established in 2010, the museum is located in Building 22 at Katara Cultural Village, right in the heart of Doha’s cultural hub. Visitors can explore a rare and multi-themed collection of stamps from 22 Arab countries, each piece offering a glimpse into the region’s heritage and artistry. Crescent Park:

Crescent Park is a hidden urban oasis in Lusail, spanning 275,000 square metres of lush green space. Designed with sustainability in mind, the park draws inspiration from the desert environment, featuring sand dune-style gardens irrigated with recycled water. It’s a refreshing escape where nature, recreation, and relaxation come together in harmony. Visitors will find tree-lined paths, vibrant flowerbeds, and well-manicured hedges, alongside extensive facilities for physical activity. The park offers bike trails, a large football field, basketball, sand volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as dedicated children’s play areas and a forested zone for exploration. With ample parking and food outlets on site, it’s easy to spend a full day here.
One of Crescent Park’s most iconic features is The Arch, a striking structure that doubles as a viewing platform. Climb the stairs along its sides, and you’ll be rewarded with a 360-degree panorama of Lusail City and the park’s sweeping greenery, a perfect spot for photography or simply taking in the view.
Open Sunday to Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Thursday to Saturday until midnight, the park is free to enter and welcoming to all. Its winding paths, gentle hills, and peaceful water features make it especially inviting during Qatar’s cool winter months, offering a tranquil setting for leisurely walks, family outings, or soaking in the crisp air before the heat returns.
Â
Al Thakira Mangroves:

Al Thakira, also known as Al Dhakira, is one of Qatar’s oldest and largest mangrove forests, officially proclaimed a natural reserve in 2006. Located about 17 km northeast of Al Khor, this wetland oasis sits on the edge of the desert, offering a striking contrast of lush greenery against arid surroundings. The mangroves are a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, stand-up paddling, and swimming along the calm waters, or simply relax at Al Thakira Beach with family and friends. It’s also a popular spot for fishing, barbecues, camping, and sunset photography, making it a versatile destination for both adventure seekers and those looking to unwind.
Nature lovers will find the forest teeming with life. The mangroves attract fish, crabs, and a wide variety of birds, including gulls, cormorants, waders, geese, mallards, and teal. These native trees thrive in briny water and withstand extreme temperatures, creating a unique ecosystem that supports wildlife year-round. Easily accessible by car from Doha, ideally with an off-road vehicle, Al Thakira offers a rare chance to step into a thriving natural reserve and experience one of Qatar’s most treasured landscapes.
Â
Al Jassasiya Rock Art Site:Â

Nestled on low limestone hills north of Doha, Al Jassasiya is home to Qatar’s most impressive collection of rock carvings. Discovered in the 1950s and proclaimed one of the country’s most significant archaeological sites, it features 874 individual carvings, known as petroglyphs. What makes Al Jassasiya unique is the diversity of its designs. Visitors will find cup marks arranged in rows, rosettes, and star-like patterns, alongside figurative carvings of boats, animals, and mysterious symbols whose meanings are still debated by historians. These carvings are unlike any others in the Gulf region, making the site a rare cultural treasure. Exploring Al Jassasiya feels like stepping quietly into Qatar’s past. The open-air site offers a tranquil atmosphere where history and landscape merge, perfect for photography or reflective walks.
Entry is free of charge, with opening hours from Saturday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Easily accessible by car, Al Jassasiya is a rewarding stop for anyone interested in archaeology, heritage, or simply discovering a different side of Qatar beyond the city. It’s a reminder that the desert holds stories carved in stone, waiting to be uncovered.

North Sedra Farm:

For a weekend escape that blends culture, fun, and relaxation, North Sedra Farm along Al Shamal Road offers a unique chance to experience Qatar’s heritage in one place. Open during the winter season, the farm is designed as a family‑friendly destination where visitors can enjoy both traditional and modern activities. The farm’s mini zoo is home to Arabian oryx, zebras,  camels, and ostriches, with opportunities to feed them up close. Children and adults alike can take part in camel rides, pony rides, boat rides, and playful encounters in the dwarf goat garden or rabbit world. For those who love hands‑on experiences, the farm-to-basket activities let visitors pick fresh produce such as strawberries, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes directly from the fields. Activities operate on a coupon system, making it easy to choose and enjoy different experiences. Beyond the outdoor fun, the farm also features a cozy cat café, where guests can relax indoors with friendly cats, as well as several restaurants for a quick meal. For those planning a longer stay, accommodation options include the Private Kopar hut (QAR 500, with bathroom and outdoor seating) and the more comfortable Sedra Room (QAR 900, with private bathroom, TV, dining table, and barbecue facilities).

Â
Al Safliya Island :Â

Just off the coast of Doha, south of The Pearl, lies Al Safliya Island, a small natural paradise and one of Qatar’s most inviting weekend destinations. With its wooden umbrellas dotting the southern shore, the island is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or simply unwinding on the sandbar while admiring panoramic views of the Doha skyline. Sunset here is particularly magical, offering picture‑perfect moments for photography lovers. For those seeking adventure, Al Safliya offers a variety of water sports, including paddleboarding, surfboarding, banana boat rides, and jet skiing. On land, visitors can enjoy beach volleyball, football, frisbee, or badminton, while cultural touches such as traditional henna body art add to the experience.
Getting there is part of the charm. Visitors can depart from the Corniche and ride a dhow boat to the island, where activities and meals are organized. Packages often include an Arabic set menu served on the island or aboard the boat, accompanied by bonfires and storytelling about Qatar’s history and culture. Entry prices are QAR 195 for adults, QAR 98 for children aged 4–10, and free for children under 4 (meals not included). It’s important to note that the island has no restrooms or permanent facilities, so visitors should bring their own supplies.
