Qatar Customs
Qatar officials successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle banned pregabalin pills at Hamad International Airport. The airport's Customs Department announced via social media that they had seized 1,400 pregabalin narcotic pills concealed in a traveler's luggage.
The discovery was made after a customs inspector grew suspicious and subjected the luggage to a scanner. Upon further manual inspection, officials found the pills hidden among prohibited tobacco products.
The Customs Authority has consistently warned against the importation of illegal goods into Qatar. To enhance their effectiveness, customs inspectors receive extensive training, both theoretical and practical, in the latest technologies and methods. This training includes learning to read passenger body language and staying informed about the newest smuggling techniques.
