Arab Parliament Speaker Condemns Attacks Targeting Saudi Oil Facilities

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi has strongly condemned the recent drone attacks targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, describing the incidents as a serious threat to the Kingdom’s security and vital infrastructure.

Al-Yamahi expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed support for the Kingdom’s right to protect its territory, people and critical infrastructure from attacks.

The condemnation follows Saudi Arabia’s announcement that its air defences intercepted and destroyed multiple drones attempting to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province. Saudi authorities said the drones were launched from Iraqi territory and attributed the attacks to Iran-backed militias.

Strong condemnation of attacks on vital infrastructure

Al-Yamahi stressed that targeting energy infrastructure represents a dangerous escalation and threatens regional security and stability.

He also called for the protection of vital economic facilities and respect for national sovereignty, warning that attacks on critical infrastructure could have consequences beyond the countries directly affected.

The Arab Parliament has repeatedly called for collective efforts to confront threats to the security and stability of Arab states and to prevent further escalation in the region.

Saudi Arabia reaffirms right to respond

Saudi Arabia has said it reserves the right to take appropriate measures to defend its territory and critical infrastructure following the attempted attacks.

The UAE has also strongly condemned the attempted attacks, expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia and rejecting attacks targeting its oil facilities.
