Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center

Doha: The Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center of the Turkish Embassy in Qatar is set to launch its new educational and cultural season on September 13, 2026, with a broad programme designed to showcase Türkiye’s language, arts, heritage and traditions.

The new season aims to strengthen cultural ties between Qatar and Türkiye by offering a wide range of educational, artistic and heritage-focused activities for residents interested in experiencing Turkish culture.

Turkish Language and Traditional Arts

As part of the programme, the center will offer Turkish language courses alongside workshops covering a variety of traditional and artistic disciplines.
Planned activities include:

•    Oil painting
•    Gilding
•    Arabic calligraphy
•    Turkish marbling, known as Ebru
•    Other cultural and artistic workshops

The activities are designed to give participants an interactive and practical introduction to different aspects of Turkish artistic heritage.

Heritage and Traditional Sports

The new season will also place a strong emphasis on traditional heritage and sports.

The center plans to organise training sessions in traditional Turkish marksmanship as well as courses focusing on popular folk traditions.

These programmes are intended to give participants a deeper understanding of cultural practices that have been passed down through generations in Türkiye.

Turkish Cuisine in Focus

Food and culinary traditions will also form an important part of the cultural programme.

Professional workshops are planned to introduce participants to Turkish cuisine, culinary traditions and cooking techniques, highlighting food as an integral part of Türkiye’s cultural heritage.

Through these sessions, participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the history and traditions associated with Turkish dishes and culinary practices.

Exhibitions, Concerts and Cultural Events

Throughout the season, the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center will continue organising art exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events.

The initiative seeks to bring Turkish culture to a wider audience in Qatar while encouraging greater interaction and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

The center’s Director, Anwar Gidik, said the institution remains committed to preparing a diverse programme of educational and artistic courses and continues to welcome everyone interested in discovering Turkish culture more closely.

The upcoming cultural season reflects the growing cultural cooperation between Qatar and Türkiye and provides residents with opportunities to engage directly with Turkish language, art, heritage, food and traditions.
