Old Doha Port announced its readiness to welcome the holy month of Ramadan with traditional and cultural events, reviving the heritage in the State of Qatar.

The port announced in a statement on Monday that it will host several events, including the Iftar Cannon, returning for the second consecutive year at the ports Corniche facing the Doha Towers, in addition to the First Meal Festival, organized in cooperation with Qatar Tourism that will feature a celebration in the ports park and a journey through Qatars oldest restaurants, along with entertainment activities and competitions for visitors during Iftar and Suhoor.

The Old Doha Port will revive the tradition of the Musaher Al Mina drummers who will roam around Mina District daily during Ramadan, reminding visitors that its time for Suhoor, as the traditional heritage will prevail over the port's activities in this holy month, in the interest of the port's management keenness to revive and preserve the traditional heritage.

The Port bears witness to the importance of the rich maritime history of the State of Qatar, as it is the main destination for gatherings and events in recent times, as it attracted a series of the most wonderful cultural and sporting activities and events during the months of January and February 2024, which contributes to strengthening its position as the country's newest tourist destination.

Old Doha Port has once again demonstrated its capability to host a diverse range of international events that bring together communities speaking a universal language of sports and culture, Executive Director of the Old Doha Port Mohammed Abdulla Al Mulla said.

"We are committed to providing a platform that not only reflects Qatars hospitality, cultural heritage, and rich maritime tradition but also supports various maritime and tourist sectors and water sports," he added.

The weekly celebrations included traditional music bands, roaming dancers, acrobatic and theatrical performances, balloon shows, bubble shows, science demonstrations, caricature artists, and workshops for designing colored sand bottles in glass, making Old Doha Port an ideal destination to spend time during the country's major events.
