Zoji La Pass, India
Sitting at 3,528 meters in the Himalayas, Zoji La is a vital link between Srinagar and Ladakh, but it's also one of the most treacherous drives on the subcontinent. The narrow, unpaved road climbs through extreme gradients and hairpin turns with no barriers, is regularly hit by monsoon landslides, and is completely buried and impassable for parts of the winter. Heavy military convoys share the same tight space as civilian traffic, adding to the congestion risk.
