Converting to a Full Driving License
After passing the GDT road test, your school notifies the Traffic Department and the full driving license is issued — usually within a few working days. For Qatari nationals and GCC citizens the license runs for 10 years; for expatriates it is tied to Iqama expiry and renewed alongside it.
The full license is linked to your QID in the MOI system. Status updates appear on the Metrash2 app, which also handles many follow-up transactions without requiring a physical GDT visit.
