New York, September 22, 2026 : Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, held talks on Tuesday with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The two top diplomats reviewed the latest developments across the region, exchanging views on ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalation. Discussions also focused on ways to foster conditions conducive to dialogue, as part of broader efforts to bolster regional security and stability.

The meeting adds to a series of high-level engagements Qatari officials are holding on the margins of the UN General Assembly this week, reflecting Doha's continued role in regional diplomatic efforts.
