Residents across Qatar can expect hot to very hot weather on Thursday, with the Qatar Meteorology Department issuing a warning for strong daytime winds, blowing dust in some areas, and rough sea conditions offshore.
According to the department's daily forecast, inshore conditions will remain hot throughout the day, accompanied by slight dust to blowing dust in certain locations as northwesterly winds strengthen. Wind speeds are expected to range between 10 and 20 knots, with gusts reaching up to 30 knots during the daytime.
The strong winds may reduce visibility, particularly in exposed areas, where it could drop to 3 kilometers or less at times. Elsewhere, visibility is expected to range between 4 and 8 kilometers.
Offshore, the weather will be partly cloudy at times with slight dust. The Meteorology Department has also warned of strong northwesterly winds and high seas, with sustained wind speeds of 12 to 22 knots and gusts of up to 28 knots.
Sea conditions are forecast to be moderate to rough, with waves ranging from 3 to 7 feet, rising to 9 feet at times offshore. Inshore wave heights will range from 2 to 4 feet, occasionally reaching 5 feet.
Authorities advise residents to exercise caution, especially motorists travelling through areas affected by blowing dust, while fishermen and those planning marine activities should monitor the latest weather updates and heed warnings regarding rough sea conditions.
The hot temperatures, combined with strong winds and reduced visibility in some areas, are expected to persist through the day before conditions gradually improve later in the evening.
