Administrators and teachers are returning to Qatarโs public schools on Sunday as preparations intensify for the 2026โ27 academic year, while second-round examinations for the 2025โ26 school year begin for students across all grade levels.
Schools Prepare for New Academic Year
School staff will focus on completing academic, administrative and organisational preparations to ensure campuses are ready to welcome students. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) said the work includes finalising academic and operational plans, preparing the school environment and completing logistical arrangements.
Students Return on August 30
Students are scheduled to return to all public schools on August 30, 2026. The ministry said the advance return of teachers and administrators is intended to support a smooth and effective start to the educational process from the first day.
Retake Exams Run Until August 27
Second-round, or retake, examinations for the 2025โ26 academic year will also begin on Sunday and continue through August 27. The exams cover students across all grade levels and will follow schedules approved by MoEHE.
Students and Parents Urged to Follow School Instructions
MoEHE has urged students sitting the retake examinations, as well as their parents, to follow instructions issued by their schools and adhere to the scheduled examination dates and approved arrangements. Exam schedules are available through the ministryโs website.
Focus on Smooth Start to 2026โ27
The ministry said it remains committed to completing all necessary preparations during this period, both to ensure the smooth administration of the retake examinations and to make sure public schools are fully prepared for the start of the new academic year.
