Qatar University
The Ministry of Culture announced the launch date for the third edition of the Qatar University (QU) Book Fair, which will be held during the period of Feb. 1-5 at the Student Affairs building 111 on the QU campus.
The exhibition is held within the framework of joint cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture - represented by the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, and Qatar University - represented by QU Press, with the aim of supporting the local publishing movement, promoting a culture of reading, and making the latest scientific and cultural publications available to students, researchers, and the public.
The exhibition features 45 publishing houses, including 9 foreign academic publishing houses from Kuwait, UAE and the US, in addition to the participation of several local entities, most notably the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) and the National Archives of Qatar, which reflects the intellectual diversity and cultural enrichment that the exhibition offers to its visitors.
The QU Book Fair is an important platform that contributes to enhancing communication between publishing houses and readers, supporting scientific research, and consolidating books' role as a primary means of knowledge, within the framework of the Ministry of Culture's keenness to support cultural and knowledge initiatives that serve the academic community and the general public.
