Qatar Museums will present a collection of rare artifacts at the 2025 Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah

Qatar Museums is pleased to announce its participation in the second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, scheduled to take place in Jeddah from January 25 to May 25, 2025. This year, Qatar Museums will contribute eight objects from The Museum of Islamic Art, all aligned with the Biennale's theme, 'Numbers.'

Organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, the Islamic Arts Biennale is the only event of its kind dedicated to showcasing the arts of Islamic civilization, offering a seamless blend of historical artifacts and modern creations. 
Qatar Museums’ contribution of eight objects will focus on the theme of 'Numbers,' providing a unique exploration of the mathematical and numerical significance found in Islamic art. These pieces will be displayed in the AlMadar section, symbolizing both the depth of Islamic art and the ongoing partnership between Qatar Museums and the Diriyah Biennale Foundation.

The Biennale will be held at the renowned Western Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport, which received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
The 2025 edition, titled *And all that is in between,* will feature seven unique elements, combining historical and contemporary works in an expansive outdoor exhibition. A standout feature will be AlMadar, meaning "the orbit" in Arabic, a collective exhibition showcasing Islamic culture's richness through contributions from global institutions.

The inaugural Biennale in 2023, themed *Awwal Bait,* made a lasting impression by highlighting Islamic artistry's rich heritage. In that edition, Qatar Museums lent four notable pieces, underscoring its dedication to promoting Islamic art and culture.

As the Islamic Arts Biennale grows in significance, Qatar Museums will continue to play an active role in promoting cultural exchange, with the loaned objects from The Museum of Islamic Art offering visitors a deeper understanding of the numerical and mathematical dimensions within Islamic art.
