Qatar Denies $12 Billion Payment Rumor, Says Claims Aim to Sabotage Peace Efforts

Dr.Majed al‑Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Advisor to the Prime Minister of Qatar, dismissed reports alleging that Qatar had ā€œofferedā€ Iran a financial payment to secure an agreement to end the war.

Al‑Ansari said such claims were being spread by ā€œparties attempting to sabotage the deal and undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts toward regional de‑escalation and stability.ā€ He stressed that the narratives were false and aimed at tarnishing Qatar’s reputation as a trusted international peace facilitator.

The remarks come amid sensitive negotiations involving Iran, the United States, and regional stakeholders, with Qatar playing a central role in mediation efforts. Officials emphasized that Doha remains committed to supporting diplomacy and advancing stability across the region.
