The Qatar Cultural Center for the Blind (QCCB) has organised a summer camp for its female members, bringing them together in an interactive setting that combined learning with recreation. The camp set out to strengthen participants' self-confidence, develop their personal and life skills, and surface talents and abilities that may not previously have had the chance to shine.
Building confidence and life skills
A central part of the programme was a discussion session on self-awareness led by coach Hiba Al Abdullah, focused on helping participants identify their personal strengths and build confidence. The session explored how challenges — and perceived weaknesses — can be reframed as opportunities for growth and development
Al Abdullah encouraged the women to step outside their comfort zones and take on new skills that could support their social, spiritual and physical development, and help them move steadily toward their own goals.
A stage for talent
The camp also featured a segment in which participants showcased their talents and creative abilities across several fields — a hands-on celebration that reinforced their belief in their own capabilities and gave each a moment to be seen and applauded.
Part of a wider mission
The initiative reflects the QCCB's continuing work to empower members of the visually impaired community in Qatar, creating inclusive spaces where they can learn, connect and grow. By pairing skills-building with recreation and self-expression, the summer camp offered its female members both practical tools and a renewed sense of confidence to carry forward.
