Qatar Charity announced yesterday the launch of it's Ramadan campaign for this year under the theme "Ramadan of Hope" that will be implemented in 40 countries, including Qatar.
Qatar Charity allocated QR 133 million's worth of its projects targeting over two million persons.
The campaign includes several major seasonal projects, as follows: the fasting iftar "food basket and breakfast", distribution of Zakat al-Fitr, Eid clothing, orphan's Eid gifts, gifts for children of low-income families and Ramadan gifts.
The campaign projects inside Qatar enjoy the support of donors through providing social assistance worth over QR 84 million, as well as through the implementation of community and cultural programs, which include the production of media programs broadcast through Qatari media or on Qatar Charitys accounts in social networks.
Regarding Qatar Charity's projects inside Qatar, assistant CEO of the Programs and Community Development Sector Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, said in a press conference that the Ramadan of Hope" campaign looked forward to implementing several seasonal projects during the holy month inside Qatar for the benefit of workers, low-income families and orphans, as well as providing aid to those in debt, widows, and humanitarian cases through the "Al-Aqraboun" initiative; in addition to implementing a number of awareness and cultural projects and voluntary initiatives.
Assistant CEO of Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity Ahmed Youssef Fakhro called on philanthropists to make the coming month of Ramadan a new start that contributes to creating hope for the poor and needy through providing them with the simplest necessities of life, alleviate their suffering, and make a positive difference in their lives.
