Who Qualifies — The Two Categories in 2026
The programme is limited to two categories: entrepreneurs and senior executives. It is not open to general professionals, freelancers, or retirees.
Category 1 — Senior Executives
The Residency Visa for Executives is available to current residents — QID holders — in Qatar. It is tailored for senior executives who already hold Qatari residency and require a streamlined employer-led pathway to formalise their status, employment authorisation, and access to program benefits.
Salary thresholds are strict:
Applicants must have a monthly salary of no less than QAR 50,000 for COO, CTO, CFO, or CEO positions, and QAR 80,000 for other Executive Director titles.
Experience requirement:
They must have a minimum of five years of experience in a senior executive management position, inside or outside Qatar, within a company or other entity.
Eligible employers are restricted to specific organisations:
Public shareholding companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, banks and financial institutions licensed by the Qatar Central Bank, insurance companies regulated by the Qatar Central Bank or the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, and consulting firms providing management, financial, legal, or accounting services to government or semi-government entities.
Category 2 — Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs must be building high-impact or innovation-driven businesses aligned with Qatar's private-sector priorities. To qualify, applicants must obtain an official endorsement from a recognised Qatari business incubator, such as Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).
Financial stability requirement:
Applicants must demonstrate a bank statement showing a minimum balance of QAR 36,500 maintained over the previous three months. The requirement is designed to confirm basic financial capacity rather than replace investment thresholds.
