His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al‑Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, held talks on Tuesday with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The meeting focused on the latest developments in the ongoing diplomatic process between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, framed within the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions centered on efforts to strengthen regional security and stability through dialogue and diplomacy. The Prime Minister underscored Qatar’s continued role as a mediator, reaffirming the country’s commitment to supporting all negotiation tracks linked to the MoU. He stressed that Qatar’s mediation aims to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable solution that enhances security across the region, protects the interests of its peoples, and contributes to international peace.

The talks also addressed broader regional issues, particularly the fragile ceasefire in the Republic of Lebanon. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of consolidating the truce and building upon it in a way that preserves Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and long‑term stability.

For their part, Witkoff and Kushner expressed Washington’s appreciation for Qatar’s diplomatic efforts, noting the country’s partnership with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in facilitating indirect negotiations. They reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to continuing the negotiation process and supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement with Iran.

The meeting highlighted Qatar’s growing role as a trusted mediator in regional diplomacy, balancing complex negotiations while promoting dialogue as a means to de‑escalate tensions. Officials described the engagement as part of Doha’s broader strategy to reinforce peacebuilding and ensure that regional disputes are addressed through constructive communication rather than confrontation.
