Nima Rinji Sherpa Youngest to Conquer the World’s 14 tallest Peaks

Eighteen-year-old Nima Rinji Sherpa from Nepal has become the youngest person to summit the world’s 14 highest peaks. He completed the final climb at Shishapangma (8,027m) on Wednesday, alongside his partner Pasang Nurbu Sherpa. Nima’s achievement was confirmed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, surpassing the previous record held by Mingma Gyabu Sherpa, who completed the climbs at 30 years old. Nima began his journey in September 2022 with the ascent of Manaslu and has since summited all "8000ers," including Everest and K2.

Nima celebrated completing his record-setting climb on Instagram, dedicating the achievement to his project, #SherpaPower. He emphasized that the summit was not just a personal victory, but a tribute to Sherpas who have long been seen as guides and porters, highlighting their strength, resilience, and untapped potential as top-tier athletes. Nima aims to inspire younger Sherpas to move beyond traditional roles and embrace new opportunities. The 14 Peaks Expedition company praised Nima, noting his strength and determination at just 18, which reflects the spirit of the Sherpa community.
