During Tree Week 2024, the Ministry of Municipality celebrated the success of Qatar's plantation campaign, having planted 24,000 trees along Al Matar Al Qadeem Street. Over 600 trees were also planted at Umm Hawtah in collaboration with the Friends of the Environment Centre. Additionally, environmental awareness activities were organized by municipalities across Doha, Al Daayen, Al Sheehaniya, Al Rayan, Al Wakra, and Al Ashamal, engaging 150 students.

In 2023, the Ministry planted over 332,000 trees, primarily in Doha Municipality, followed by Al Rayan and Umm Salam. This initiative aims to combat climate change by preserving the local ecosystem and sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Moreover, the Ministry built 15 new public parks in 2024, increasing the total from 113 to 144 since 2019, marking a 27 percent growth. Qatar's mangrove forests, spanning 13 square kilometers along the coastal areas, play a vital role in carbon storage and climate change mitigation. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is dedicated to preserving these ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices to protect Qatar's environmental wonders.
