Katara Cultural Village launches Teen Art Awards 2026

Qatar's Katara Cultural Village Foundation has officially launched the fourth edition of the Teen Art Awards 2026 in partnership with the Art Connects Foundation and the British Council, inviting young artists from around the world to showcase their creativity.

Global Competition for Young Artists

The international contemporary art competition is open free of charge to artists aged 13 to 17 worldwide. The initiative aims to support emerging talent while encouraging creativity, cultural dialogue and artistic expression on a global stage.

Theme 2026: "Belonging"

This year's theme, "Belonging," encourages participants to explore concepts of:

Identity
Memory
Culture
Society
Through their artwork, participants are invited to promote diversity, inclusion and meaningful dialogue across cultures.

Applications for the Teen Art Awards 2026 will be accepted from:

• Submission Period: August 1 – November 1, 2026

• Awards Ceremony: December 3, 2026

• Venue: Katara Drama Theatre

Katara Director-General Dr. Khalid Al Sulaiti said the award reflects Katara's vision of culture as a shared responsibility and aims to provide young people with an international platform to express their creativity and artistic talent.

British Council Highlights Cultural Exchange

British Council Qatar Director Dr. Waseem Qutub said the initiative supports young artists while creating opportunities for educators, cultural institutions and emerging creatives to engage in learning, collaboration and cultural exchange.

Art Connects Foundation Supports Emerging Talent

Art Connects Foundation President and Teen Art Awards founder Daria Kalinina said the programme is built on the belief that creativity begins at an early age and that young artists deserve opportunities to present their work internationally.

She noted that the previous edition attracted participants from more than 60 countries, highlighting the competition's growing global reach.
