Indian Passport — Strong Evidence, But Not Conclusive
A passport is issued only after verification of citizenship, making it strong evidence of nationality. However, under the Passports Act, it can in rare cases be issued in the public interest — meaning it is not legally conclusive proof of citizenship on its own.
