HH the Amir Issues Decision Establishing Tamim bin Hamad University for Military and Tech Sciences

Doha, September 29, 2026 : HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued Amiri Decision No. 37 of 2026 on Tuesday, appointing the Board of Trustees of Tamim bin Hamad University for Military and Technology Sciences.

Board to Be Chaired by Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief

The decision stipulates that the Board of Trustees will be chaired by the Commander-in-Chief of the Qatar Armed Forces, with the Minister of State for Defense Affairs serving as Vice Chairman.

Senior Officials Named as Board Members

Board members include the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, the Minister of Transport, the Head of State Security, and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Also included are the President of the National Cyber Security Agency, President of Qatar University Dr. Mariam Ali Sultan Al Maadeed, and Sheikha Dr. Dena bint Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani.

Chairman Authorized to Appoint Additional Members

The decision also authorizes the board chairman to appoint additional members with relevant competence and expertise.

Decision Effective Immediately

The decision is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the official gazette.
