Al Bidda Park welcomes the permanent reopening of Dadu Gardens

The Children’s Museum of Qatar, known as Dadu, has reopened Dadu Gardens in Al Bidda Park, situated within the Expo 2023 Doha's International Zone. Positioned as an educational and entertaining destination for kids under 12, along with their families and caregivers, Dadu Gardens solidifies its role. With the thematic focus titled "Gardens’ Adventures," the operational year of Dadu Gardens is poised to provide diverse activities and programs. These initiatives are tailored to involve and educate children, promoting their development through playful interactions with nature. Moreover, Dadu Gardens is set to endure beyond the conclusion of Expo 2023 Doha in Al Bidda Park.

Being the first publicly funded national entity of its kind in Qatar, Dadu, the Children’s Museum of Qatar, aspires to empower the local community through collective efforts in enriching the cultural, environmental, and social landscapes of the country. Covering an expansive area of 14,500 square meters, Dadu Gardens acts as an outdoor display and interactive classroom affiliated with the Museum.

Essa Al Mannai, the Director of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, expressed, "We are thrilled to reopen Dadu Gardens in its permanent location within Al Bidda Park, as part of Expo 2023 Doha. We welcome children and their families to engage, learn, and flourish through a diverse range of hands-on experiences and activities. Dadu Gardens Adventures embody similar values to Expo 2023 Doha, emphasizing sustainability, the green economy, healthy habits, and the environment. We encourage the public to explore our programs, offering children opportunities for meaningful engagement that fosters skill development, empowering them to shape their own learning journey. This aligns with Dadu's mission to endorse various forms of play that support and enhance children’s education."

The development of Dadu, the Children’s Museum of Qatar, under Qatar Museums, embodies an unparalleled partnership between Qatar’s public and private sectors. Those contributing QR3.65 million or more become members of the Dadu Founding Family, which includes esteemed entities such as H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Awqaf (Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs), Baladna, ConocoPhillips, DAAM, ENI, ExxonMobil, Intesa Sanpaolo, Baladya (Ministry of Municipality), Ooredoo, Shell, SLB, Total Energies, Supernova, and Uniqlo. Additionally, Rumailah Group has generously donated two six-seater golf carts to aid transportation and enhance operations at Dadu Gardens, particularly during Expo 2023 Doha.

Specifically designed for children under 12, Dadu Gardens offers an array of activities encompassing physical play, creative exploration, narrative adventures, and more. Utilizing the power of genuine play and interaction with nature, Dadu Gardens aim to foster children’s development. The Gardens comprise nine distinct facilities: Edible Garden, Garden Atelier, Community Garden, Permaculture Showcase, Kashta, Events Plateau, The Promise Plaza, and Al Marj, where scheduled activities and programs take place. During Expo 2023 Doha, activities at the Gardens’ Adventures will involve art creation using natural materials, exploring the edible garden, learning about worms, participating in gardening programs, and gaining insights into recycling.
