Assam floods: Eight dead and thousands displaced in India state

Severe flooding has disrupted life in the northeastern state of Assam.

Train and road transport services have been hit, making it harder for officials to send relief material to remote areas.

The state’s disaster management officials told the media that at least 400,000 people were affected and eight have died.
