Islamabad, October 20, 2026 : One Pakistani soldier and four militants were killed during an intelligence-led security operation in Balochistan province, southwestern Pakistan, the Pakistani military announced on Monday.
According to a statement carried by state-run Radio Pakistan, security forces conducted a series of search operations in the Shadi Kor area near Pasni. During one of the operations, troops came under attack while advancing through the area, resulting in the death of a soldier.
The military said the ensuing confrontation involved an intense exchange of fire, during which all four militants were killed. Security personnel also recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the site.
The operation was part of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts amid continued security challenges in Balochistan, where clashes between government forces and armed groups have occurred in recent weeks.
