Doha, October 25, 2026: A total of 1,073 Qataris have registered for the Categories Division of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Noble Qur’an Competition, according to the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.
The registrations include 454 men and 619 women, reflecting participation in the competition’s different levels of Qur’an memorisation.
The Categories Division covers five levels, requiring participants to memorise five, 10, 15, 20 or 25 parts of the Holy Qur’an. Participants can progress through the levels before advancing to the full-memorisation category.
Awqaf said the division has helped prepare participants who went on to complete memorisation of the entire Qur’an, while others have represented Qatar in regional and international Qur’an competitions.
The organising committee described the division as an educational initiative aimed at developing national Qur’anic talent, strengthening participants’ connection with the Holy Qur’an, and promoting faith-based values and national identity.
The competition also supports Awqaf’s efforts to promote Qur’anic culture in line with its 2025–2030 strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030.
Testing is scheduled to begin on October 31. Male participants will be tested at Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab Mosque, while female participants will take their tests at the Women’s Activity Center of the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance in Al Waab.
The detailed testing schedule is expected to be announced later this week.
