Manama, October 29, 2026 : Information ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states have reaffirmed that unity and solidarity among Gulf countries, their leaderships and peoples are essential to preserving regional security, stability and shared achievements.
The ministers stressed that maintaining Gulf cohesion is a collective responsibility, particularly amid current regional circumstances and the challenges they present.
The statements came at the conclusion of the 29th meeting of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Information, held in Bahrain on Tuesday, with the participation of the member states’ information ministers and the GCC Secretary-General. Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation, headed Qatar’s delegation.
The ministers firmly rejected any actions or content intended to weaken Gulf unity or offend GCC member states, their symbols or their peoples. They also called for stronger monitoring and documentation of violations across media outlets and digital platforms, alongside appropriate legal action by the competent authorities in accordance with national regulations and relevant GCC decisions.
They urged media institutions, professionals and social media users to act responsibly, verify information through official sources and refrain from publishing or sharing offensive or misleading material.
The ministers further emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to protect Gulf unity, strengthen fraternal relations among GCC peoples, and support initiatives that reinforce regional security and stability.
