HE Emine Dzhaparova
HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova questioned the usefulness of negotiations between her country and Russia to stop the war that has been raging for a month, warning that this war will grow and swell if the world was not able to stop it immediately.
"When we think that negotiations will stop the actions of the Russian President, we are mistaken," Dzhaparova said during a panel held today in the framework of Doha Forum.
She accused the Russian forces of bombing civilian targets such as nurseries, ambulances, orphanages and civilian facilities, calling these actions an "abnormal way of thinking and dealing."
She considered what is happening today in Ukraine as a natural result of what happened in 2014, when the world did not act on Russia's occupation of the Crimea.
In response to a question about Russia's plan now, she said, "Russia's plan in the current war was to take control of Ukraine in three days, but it was a miscalculation, there are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians ready to fight, and there is resistance, and this is what prompted the Russian forces now to reposition themselves in some cities."
While the Ukrainian official affirmed that her country does not want war and is ready for peace without compromising the country's unity, she stressed that the Ukrainian people are confident in their ability to win this war.
She called for Islamic and global solidarity with her country in this ordeal.
