The White House announced Monday that "the arrangement between Lebanon and Israel, monitored by the United States, will continue to be in effect until February 18, 2025."
The White House statement said that the governments of Lebanon, the Israeli entity, and the US "will also begin negotiations for the return of Lebanese prisoners captured after October 7, 2023."
The ceasefire agreement that entered into force on Nov. 27, 2024, stipulates the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Lebanese territories it occupied after 60 days from the entry into force of the agreement.
