The elections were conducted during an extraordinary general assembly meeting held through video communication technology, presided over by Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation and First Vice President of FIFA. The event was attended by Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, along with other federation presidents and representatives. National Members were also present during the meeting.

The President of the Asian Football Confederation congratulated the elected members and said in a speech during the meeting: The Asian Football Confederation has achieved growth to become a model of excellence in implementing good governance and applying the highest ethical standards in recent years.

He added: These achievements were built through the contributions of members of our judicial bodies, and therefore when electing new members, we must extend our thanks to all those who have served Asian football in a distinguished manner.

He continued: I have great faith that the individuals elected today will continue to build on this legacy, and I have confidence that their abilities and experience will play an important role in advancing the future of Asian football.
