DOHA: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index fell 38.53 points, or 0.39%, at the start of Mondayโs trading session, reaching 9,824 points.
The decline came as six sectors recorded losses, outweighing gains in the Banks and Financial Services sector.
Six Sectors Trade Lower
Market data showed declines across the following sectors:
Consumer Goods and Services: -1.21%
Telecoms: -1.21%
Real Estate: -1.15%
Industrials: -0.83%
Transportation: -0.66%
Insurance: -0.18%
Meanwhile, the Banks and Financial Services sector gained 0.20%, providing some support to the broader market.
Trading Activity Reaches QR63.25 Million
By 10am, trading turnover on the QSE stood at approximately QR63.251 million.
A total of 23.329 million shares changed hands through 4,345 transactions, according to Qatar Stock Exchange data.
The early-session performance reflected broad-based pressure across several key sectors, despite the positive movement recorded in banking and financial services.
